Question 1

Who is ShopSkein for?

Accepted Answer

ShopSkein is intended for independent store owners. An owner can save storefront homepages in a private workspace, where active stores receive a daily homepage link check. Owners can also start a manual check.

Question 2

How does homepage link monitoring work?

Accepted Answer

Once a day, ShopSkein requests the saved homepage for each active store and checks up to 16 links found there. It also checks up to three publicly linked product pages for availability. The results are saved in that owner’s private history. Paused and archived stores are skipped. Owners can also start an extra homepage check manually.

Question 3

Does ShopSkein run checks automatically?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ShopSkein runs daily homepage link and product availability checks for active stores. Paused and archived stores do not receive scheduled checks.

Question 4

Can ShopSkein check product availability?

Accepted Answer

ShopSkein checks up to three product pages linked from each active store’s saved homepage. It marks a product unavailable only when the page shows an explicit unavailable signal. An unclear or unreadable page is recorded as unknown. Results stay in the store’s private check history.

Question 5

Does ShopSkein send daily store reports?

Accepted Answer

Email reports are still planned. Daily check results are saved in the owner’s private store history, but ShopSkein does not currently send a daily report.

Question 6

Can ShopSkein monitor checkout?

Accepted Answer

No. Product availability checks read product pages only. They do not open cart or checkout pages, click purchase controls, submit forms, or test checkout flows.
